Our Mission

Our mission is to empower veterans and their families. We accomplish this by connecting veterans with other veterans and by assembling resources while driving collaboration across non-profit organizations, for-profit companies, governmental agencies, academia, and the community.

Our Core

Integrity is a key component of protecting our brand and vital element in supporting veterans and their families and important in developing relationships with our partners and members. VETLANTA board members and volunteers must act with honesty, integrity and transparency in all their dealings with each other and as representatives of the organization.

We professionally hold ourselves and one another responsible for ensuring we maximize our impact, and we do what we say we will do. We treat all members with dignity and respect regardless of their rank, background, or position including our members, partners and fellow board members.

Service before self is always the core of our volunteerism efforts and engagement.


We believe community is vital for veterans and their families and we are committed to connecting our community.

We develop, support, and empower our members by connecting them with resources including academia, non-profit organizations, employers, government agencies and individual contributors.

We seek to develop and sustain meaningful partnerships to advance the VETLANTA mission and to develop a vibrant community. We seek win-win-win partnerships that provide benefit to VETLANTA, veterans and their families, and our partner organizations.

Teamwork is essential for achieving objectives effectively, efficiently and professionally.

We value the transformative impact of collaboration. By working together, fostering open communication, furthering understanding, and building caring and supportive environments, we can achieve something bigger than we could alone.

We strive to communicate effectively with each other, our partners, and our members because effective communication boosts morale, engagement, productivity, and satisfaction and is key for better teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation.


We do our best work when we do it with a strong sense of purpose and a passion for a better world. Even when we’re doing hard things, we can find love and joy in unexpected places and understand the essential role hope plays in our work.

We cannot be effective without empathy, so we strive to recognize and understand the perspectives, feelings and lived experiences of others, including and especially those most different from ourselves, and give one another grace.
